Volunteers are truly the heart of A Better Choice. We have a small staff, so we rely on our trained volunteers to help conduct our services. As a volunteer, you can choose to work directly with our clients, behind the scenes at our office, or from your home. Volunteer weekly, monthly, or for special events. Our volunteers encompass a large range of ages, experiences, availability, and talent.

Volunteer Opportunities:

Client Advocate

As a Client Advocate, you will administer pregnancy tests for our clients and have an open dialogue with them about their needs. Client Advocates walk with women on their journey by following up throughout their pregnancy and helping provide resources when needed. Training includes nine hours of classroom training and supervised shadowing. Volunteer Client Advocates are asked to work one four-hour shift per week.

Receptionist

As a receptionist, you are the first face our clients see when they walk into A Better Choice. You will greet them with a compassionate smile and help determine how we can best serve them. The receptionist also assists with paperwork, data entry on the computer, answering the phone, and various office tasks. Volunteer receptionists will receive on-the-job training and are asked to work one four-hour shift per week.

Bilingual Translator

We have an overwhelming need for volunteers bilingual in English and Spanish to be Client Advocates, Receptionists, and Translators.
